Road Trip Coming to an End

We've reached our final destination of Raleigh, NC.  It's great to see Mom, Grandma, and Kenny as well as get some great home cooking.  Leslie and I are both a little sick of the car, so we've stuck a deal with Kenny to drive the car back for us.  He's going to get to have his own road trip back, and then he'll fly home shortly thereafter.  Leslie and I will be coming back on Tuesday.  The trip has been a lot of fun, and we got to see lots of friends and family.

There is one other big development.  We bought a house in Austin on the way through.  We loved the place so much, and we'll get to be near the Repps, and the music scene will be fantastic for Leslie's music career.  It's a big change, but sometimes you need a good shock to your system.  I moved a lot as a kid, so I don't think I ever outgrew moving every few years.  Texas will certainly be a big change, but I figure our votes will go further in the blueberry in the tomato soup that is Austin.

    Road Trip

Day 11 of our road trip and I decide to update my personal site that I haven't updated in almost a year.  Well this road trip has given me an excuse to put something up here.  We've made our way from Seattle to San Francisco, over the Sierra Nevadas, through Death Valley, and into the nation within a nation, Texas!  Now this isn't oil field Texas.  We're in Austin which is kind of wierd.  It's a liberal haven in the middle of Pax Americana.  We're staying with the Repps and their neighborhood is full of out of state techies.  So in that respect it feels right at home.
